Welcome to Natural City Living (NCL)
NCL (Natural City Living) is MPG’s community programme and our current
residency at May Project Gardens itself. NCL incorporates the full ethos of MPG as its formation
aims to engage the local community to embrace the open garden with the aim of providing
platforms for skilled horticulturist and budding nature enthusiasts
NCL’s programme spans the solstice equinox and runs fortnightly through multiple
strands of development focussing on various aspects of permaculture and specifically exploring
(4) structural pillars: • Earth Care • People Care • Fair Share • Design & Creative Flair
NCL is open to the public and encourages attendees to spread the word to those that would like to have an immersive nature experience and a warm and welcoming space designed to aid wellbeing and mindfulness.
The unique and diverse structure of NCL includes dynamic facilitators that have specialties in various areas from herbs to historical and ancient uses of nature that utilise the platform to bolster and introduce their teaching practices to the wider community. This enables differences in NCL offerings and also highlights the incubator process of NCL which aims to develop the skills of teaching and learning within the environmental sector to bolster and raise the participation and engagement levels of a wider demographic that holds space in this hugely underrepresented sector.
The NCL sessions run for approx. 4 hours and have been attended by those as young as 7
years young to mid 70’s. All are welcome and the sessions are designed to provide access for those well-informed and experienced, to those returning or beginning their nature journey.
