NCL Manager @ MPG Hub

SHE/ HER

Obie joined the team in the Winter of Dec 2021 and became the lead/ manager of a green skills programme called Natural City Living at May Project Gardens (MPG) in Spring 2022.
The programme offers free or donation-based workshops and open days, bringing together diverse communities of all ages in a community-led retreat space.

Guided by permaculture principles, we welcome both returning and new visitors.
Our activities include nature-based well-being, creative practices, skill sharing (such as natural building and cob oven construction), and food growing and permaculture skills. Assist with teaching greening skills to young people and vulnerable adults.

I co-developed an incubator program to support the growth of practitioners.
Our aim is to improve access and opportunities within agriculture and environmentalism—two of the least diverse sectors.

In Obie's other role, which is connected to the world of growing and activism (MPG's ethos), she is the co-director of
Black Farmers Market CIC. This grassroots, Black British-led organisation creates safe spaces for the social and economic empowerment of the Black community in environmentalism and agriculture.
